Chanae Q. Clemons is a Clayton County native. She was born and raised in the Lake Spivey community. She attended J.W. Arnold Elementary, Jonesboro Middle School and graduated with Dual College Preparatory and Technical Degree from Jonesboro High School. Clemons continued her education at Valdosta State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology. After starting her employment with Clayton County government Clemons went on to obtain her Paralegal Certificate from Clayton State University. Clemons is a proud Clayton County resident and homeowner in Jonesboro, Georgia.
Clemons has been employed with Clayton County government for sixteen years. She started her career immediately upon graduating college, in the State Court Clerk’s Office as a Deputy Court Clerk for the Traffic Division. She also served as the Criminal Clerk for Judge John Carbo and the Civil Clerk for Judge Morris Braswell. Clemons then transferred to the Magistrate Court Clerk’s office where she served as the Dispossessory Clerk for three years. Clemons continued her advancement as a Legal Secretary, Accusation Specialist and finally Legal Assistant II for the Solicitor General’s Office. Prior to being sworn in as Clerk of Superior Court, Clemons served as a Legal Assistant for the Clayton County District Attorney’s Office and Chief Deputy to the previous Clerk.
As Clerk of Superior and Magistrate Court, Clemons’ goal is to uphold the highest standards of integrity, impartiality, and professionalism while providing efficient and accessible judicial services to the citizens of Clayton County, Georgia. She is committed to safeguarding the public trust, maintaining accurate and secure records, and ensuring equitable access to justice for all.
